selling gold
The complete guide to selling gold: check fineness, calculate value and sell safely at the best price.
Selling gold is easier than many people think when you know what matters. Its value depends on three things: fineness, weight and today's gold price. This guide explains step by step how to achieve the best price.
What determines gold's value?
The buying value is calculated transparently: today's spot price × fineness × weight in grams. Higher fineness, such as 750 instead of 333, means more pure gold per gram and therefore a higher price.
For example, at 120,00 € per gram of fine gold, a 6 gram 585 ring has a material value of 421,20 €; a 750 ring of equal weight is worth 540,00 €. Gemstones, a brand name or craftsmanship can add value to special jewellery. For scrap gold, material value alone matters.
Which types of gold do we buy?
We buy gold in every form: scrap and old gold, jewellery and inherited pieces, dental gold, gold coins and bars. Broken or incomplete pieces retain full material value too.
We check every hallmark, including 333, 585, 750 and 999, in front of you. If no mark is present, we determine fineness with a test that is gentle on the material. Bars and bullion coins receive the higher rate because no refining work is needed.
