Glossary
750 gold (18 carat)
750 gold contains 75% pure gold and is regarded as a high-quality alloy for fine jewellery.
750 gold consists of 75% pure gold, corresponding to 18 carat. Its colour is richer and warmer than 585, but the material is slightly softer and more prone to scratches. Branded and designer jewellery is almost invariably made in 750.
Internationally, 750 is the most common quality for fine jewellery. Italian, French and Swiss pieces therefore often carry this hallmark, frequently accompanied by a maker's or national mark.
Designer jewellery may have collector or resale value beyond material value. If a piece is well preserved, complete and sought after, we check both and quote the higher amount.
Worked example for 750 gold
At a gold price of 120,00 € per gram of fine gold, one gram of 750 gold has a material value of 90,00 €. An 18 gram bangle therefore comes to 1.620,00 €, and a 5 gram ring to 450,00 €.
At a payout of 90 to 95 % of spot, the bangle brings approximately 1.458,00 to 1.539,00 €. The same bangle in 585 would have a material value of only 1.263,60 €. That is the difference fineness makes.
Sell 750 gold in Nordhorn
We always look twice at high-quality pieces in Nordhorn: first at material value, then at whether brand, condition and completeness justify a higher price. This is often the case for watches and signed jewellery.
Bring the case, certificate or purchase receipt if you have them. They are unnecessary for pure material value, but very helpful for a valuation above it.
Damaged pieces are welcome too. A broken clasp or bent bangle does not reduce material value. Single earrings without their partner are calculated in the same way as a complete pair. Fineness and fine metal weight count, regardless of condition.
