Solitaire
A Solitär is a piece of jewellery with a single prominent gemstone. As a ring, it is often chosen for an engagement.
A solitaire ring's design centres on a single stone. The name describes the ring's structure. It does not specify the stone's origin or price.
An engagement ring, by contrast, describes the occasion. A solitaire can be an engagement ring, but an engagement does not require a particular ring shape.
